The Henderson Sisters

When you have been doing something as long as I have been a florist a lot of business comes through recommendations of past clients. I often find that my brides know a previous bride, I have even made flowers for a daughter then the next year for her mother.

A particular trio that have stood out is the Henderson Sisters, Afton, Ailsa and Shona. Three beautiful brides and three different styles of flowers. One thing they all had in common though was their chosen photographer, Paul Flannigan Photography. Paul has kindly shared some of his images for me to use in this little write up.

The first of the three sisters to tie the knot was Ailsa. She wed Tom at Mansion House in Jesmond in a gorgeous House of Mooshki Dress from Kathryn Trueman Bridal .They chose a unique theme as Ailsa family originate from Scotland and Tom's from Wales. We included Thistles and Daffodils amongst Stocks, Spray roses, Lisianthus, wax flower and enough herbs to cook a Sunday dinner! Her bouquet smelt divine!

Next up to say the big I do's was Afton and Rob. They chose High House Farm Brewery as their venue. Afton wore a Lou Lou Bridal gown from One Fine Day Bridal. The colour scheme for their flowers were a beautiful selection of pastel colours in a meadow selection of flowers. We used Roses, Sweet peas, Astilbe, Delphinium, Tanacetum, spray roses and Oxypetalum.

Last but not least Shona and Michael married at Horton Grange. Shona wore a gorgeous gown from Mia Sposa. They chose a completely different colour scheme again. Their wedding was in October so an autumnal theme with a twist was the order of the day. Purples and Grey pumpkins did I hear you say? Shona's Bouquet was made up using Hydrangea, Roses, Scabiosa, Orchids, Steel Berries and Chrysanthemums.

All three of our beautiful brides had their hair done by family members (Afton is a hair dresser!) and their make up done by their Cousin Alex... Whose wedding flowers we also did on NYE last year!
